From the first day to the fourth of Startup Port Harcourt Week, a team of bloggers and media experts will tour the city, visiting Innovation Hubs and spaces that eases the burden of founders, tech talents and content developers in the city. They will explore their spaces, products and programs, and give them real-time online publicity. The Innovation Tour 2017 had a great impact on the Port Harcourt tech ecosystem as it increased hubs visibility and CONNECTED hubs to key stakeholders. Last years Innovation Tour expanded the scope to include coffee shops and restaurants. The aim was to recognize the VALUE these spaces add to the digital economy, increase visibility, and boost the city’s VALUE in innovation tourism.
STARTUP SUNDAY is a periodic meetup where founders, talents, funders and startup enthusiasts converge to share ideas, connect with potential partners to develop and nurture startups. It is an initiative of Netopps, an organisation focused on building people and systems in Africa to leverage internet opportunities, to optimize social and economic potentials. The first edition after it’s inception was on July 12th 2015, after which it has recorded different other editions.
SUPER STARTUP SUNDAY is a special edition that marks the beginning of Startup Port Harcourt organized annually. The highlight of the event will be the debut rendition of the official theme song for Startup Port Harcourt Week. Startup Port Harcourt Week has been successfully ran twice since 2017.
The theme song for 2017 was SEE sung by August Chuks, written by Amiso Joy and produced by Awaji-Tono Etex of Dexterville Records. Last years theme song was written and sung by VLE Mega 1.

For 24 hours, 1 team from different innovation hubs, each team comprising of computer programmers, graphic designers, interface designers and content creators, will collaborate to develop tech solutions to common problems in the city and its environs. The solutions will range from environment, security, food, maritime, construction, health and transport etc.
These products will be pitched during the Demo Day event which follows after, to investors, media practitioners and startup enthusiasts.
Hackathon 2017 focused on ‘Ease Of Doing Business’ and 8 Innovation Hubs from the city participated, Hackathon 2018 focused on ‘problem solving’, 10 teams from the Serendipity hub participated.

This meet-up is setup in furtherance of the vision of celebrating individuality, inspiring and encouraging people to live out their dreams by tapping into their innate potentials to deliver value to self and society.
It focuses on two aspects. First is on addressing the challenge of taxation in Port Harcourt. Startups are faced with the burden of taxation considering the existing challenges of finance and power to run their businesses.
The second aspect of this meet-up is geared towards encouraging individuals to start their businesses and Startups who are struggling not to quit but see the increasing value that they can add through knowing the tips to grow and succeed.

Demo Day will feature ideas, tech and social enterprises that provide innovative solutions to local problems, and add value to the city and its environs. These solutions ranging from environment, security, food, maritime, construction, health, transport, media & entertainment, would be pitched to an audience of investors, media practitioners, policy makers and other key stake holders.
The event will also include an exhibition and networking session, to facilitate linkages and increase visibility. Participants of the Hackathon will be among the pitchers at the Demo Day. The aim is to boost the growth of the Digital Economy, by providing solutions that would add value to users, funders and the society.
