Startup Sunday is a periodic meetup where founders, talents, funders and startup enthusiasts converge to share ideas, connect with potential partners to develop and nurture startups. It is an initiative of Netopps, an organisation focused on building people and systems in Africa to leverage internet opportunities, to optimize social and economic potentials. This edition will be its 52nd since inception on July 12th 2015.
Super Startup Sunday is a special edition that marks the beginning of Startup Port Harcourt Week 2018. The highlight of the event will be the debute rendition of the official theme song for Startup Port Harcourt Week 2018.
For 24 hours, 10 teams comprising of computer programmers, graphic designers, interface designers and content creators, will collaborate to develop tech solutions to common problems in the city and its environs. The solutions will range from environment, security, food, maritime, construction, health and transport.
These products will be pitched during the Demo Day event on Tuesday November 27th, to investors, media practitioners and startup enthusiasts.

From Monday 26th November to Thursday 29th November 2018, a team of bloggers and media experts will tour the city, visiting Innovation Hubs and spaces that eases the burden of founders, tech talents and content developers in the city. They will to explore their spaces, products and programs, and give them real-time online publicity. Last year’s Innovation Tour had a great impact on the Port Harcourt tech ecosystem as it increased hubs visibility and CONNECTED hubs to key stakeholders. This year, we will be expanding the scope to include coffee shops and restaurants. The aim is to recognize the VALUE these spaces add to the digital economy, increase visibility, and boost the city’s VALUE in innovation tourism.
Demo Day 2018 will feature ideas, tech and social enterprises that provide innovative solutions to local problems, and add VALUE to the city and its environs. These solutions ranging from environment, security, food, maritime, construction, health, transport, media & entertainment, would be pitched to an audience of investors, media practitioners, policy makers and other key stake holders. The event will also include an exhibition and networking session, to facilitate linkages and increase visibility. Participants of the 2018 Hackathon will be among the pitchers at the Demo Day. The aim is to boost the growth of the Digital Economy, by providing solutions that would add VALUE to users, funders and the society.
